How do I book a session?
After we set a tentative date, receipt of your retainer will reserve it. I accept retainers via cash, check or transfer. Your retainer fee reserves your date, with any additional charges due on the day of your session or, if applicable, at your ordering appointment. Retainers are nonrefundable, but as a courtesy may be applied to an alternate shoot date within one month of your original appointment if you must reschedule with advance notice.
Are hair styling and makeup provided?
No, but I have some great recommendations for makeup artists and hair stylists. Please let me know if you need help finding someone.
How many outfit changes are included in my session?
As many as you like! However, please realize that wardrobe changes will cut in to your session time. I can provide wardrobe guidelines for each session and I'm happy to review selections and make suggestions ahead of time.
How long will our session take?
Session durations are estimates. Weather delays and other unforeseen circumstances will be taken into consideration. Location and wardrobe changes, unless otherwise indicated, are considered part of the session time.
How do you deliver images?
For family, couple, and senior portrait shoots, the session is geared toward the final print products. Each portrait session fee includes a print credit which varies by the selected session. We'll schedule a viewing session at a convenient time shortly after your shoot, during which you'll be able to choose images to order prints, albums, canvases, etc.
For weddings, events, and business headshots, I use an online gallery service called Pixieset, which can be password-protected for your privacy. It’s a user-friendly method of viewing, choosing, sharing, and ordering images.
Please note that digital files are available for purchase separately from your session fee unless your session specifies that digitals are included.
Do I get to choose the final images for my gallery?
You’ll view the photographer-culled images from your session (approximately 30-40 per hour of shoot time for portrait sessions and 50-70 per hour for events or weddings). Any digitals or prints can be selected from this gallery.
For my headshot session, can I choose from more than the indicated number of included images?
Absolutely. From your watermarked gallery of proofs, you may purchase additional digitals, which will be hand-retouched prior to delivery.
When will our photos be available?
Depending on my workload, processing time varies. Shorter sessions take less time, but in general, your images should be ready for selectionwithin two weeks (excluding weddings). If there is a particular date by which you know you will need your images, please let me know!
What if I need to reschedule/cancel?
Totally understandable – life happens. Kids get sick, deadlines come up, whatever. Your retainer, while nonrefundable, is transferrable to another date within a month of your original session with advance notice. However, no-shows or last-minute cancellations will require a new retainer to reschedule, so please reach out as early as possible with scheduling concerns.
I need a different style/scope of photo session.
